Girls School
This school for 150 girls in grades one through six is sited in the Katanga province of Democratic Republic of the Congo. The program includes a Cafeteria/Library, Kitchen, Medical Room, Computer Room, 3 Bedroom Apartment, and Maintenance Room. The roof is designed as a series of folded planes, creating a landscape for the collection of rainwater. There is shading all around the perimeter - open walkways - and openings on all 4 sides of the courtyard to allow for circulation and cross breezes.
