Working with the NYC Department for the Aging, EOA designed an entirely new community space and kosher kitchen for their Senior Meals Program at the Washington Heights + Inwood YM/YWHA. Acoustics of the space were mediated by wrapping the walls in layers of felt, using the “Y” logo as a design motif. Dark wood flooring panels and additional acoustical materials were integrated to create a space of elegance and warmth, honoring the seniors of the community.
